PetsWALK 2019 is June 22!

Kitsap Humane Society’s PetsWALK presented by Poulsbo Animal Clinic is June 22  — just two months away — and registration for this festive outdoor fundraising event is open now!

More than 400 participants are expected to leash up their pets to participate in this year’s annual 5K charity walk/run in Downtown Poulsbo. While this fundraiser is loads of fun, the purpose of PetsWALK is to raise money to help KHS provide lifesaving care and shelter for more than 6,800 homeless, abandoned, and injured pets who come through our doors each year.

Day-of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Lion’s Park and the race will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. The course is mostly flat, and you have the option to participate in a 1-mile race as opposed to committing to a full 5K if that’s your style. Early bird registration (through May 5) is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and includes a signature bandana for you or your four-legged companion. Be sure to hold onto your bandanas as they are your ticket into PetsWALK!

After PetsWALK, the festivities will continue during the Pet Expo Presented by VCA Central Kitsap at Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park starting at noon. Expect to have a blast watching or participating in the dog agility course, costume contest, talent contest, kids dash and other fun activities. Speakers will share valuable information about animal behavior and health, and 30 vendors will share treats and samples. And head over to Naturally 4 Paws after PetsWALK for the After Party!

Funds raised at PetsWALK will help Kitsap Humane Society rescue, rehome and rehabilitate animals in our community and beyond. Anyone can fundraise for PetsWALK, and those who do will be eligible to win some amazing prizes as individuals or as teams!
