Pet of the Week – Duke

July 17, 2018

Meet Duke (ID 71139)! He is an adorable pittie/lab mix who is about 3 years old. Duke loves to romp around the yard and play with tennis balls and squeaky toys; he’s such a hoot! Duke loves to go for quiet hikes in the woods (so many great smells to explore!) and he loves water- he especially enjoys playing in the kiddy pool during hot summer days, splashing around at the beach, and bath time! After a day of fun, he will curl up on a cozy bed and snooze all night long. Duke is looking for a home where snoring is fully accepted – he’s not exactly a quiet sleeper – but he is so cute as he snuggles with his stuffed toys and chases sticks in his sleep! Duke would love to find a home, so he can show off how well house-trained and crate-trained he is, and how much he loves to ride in the car! Duke is a special boy who takes time to build relationships with new people, so he needs a home with dedicated adopters who will give him time to settle in and learn to trust people. He seems to be more comfortable with women, as he can be a bit fearful with men. Because Duke can be nervous with lots of activity and uncomfortable with strangers, he needs a quiet home (no apartments please) without many visitors. He would do best in a home with kids over the age of 16 and as the only pet in the home. Duke is currently spending time in Foster Care, so meets are by appointment only. If you would like more information on Duke, please e-mail Samantha at sfairweather@kitsap-humane.org to request an adoption application.
