Pet of the Week – Duke

February 20, 2018

Meet Duke (ID 71139) He is an adorable pit bull/lab mix who is about 3 years old. He’s mostly white with brown freckles on his squishy face! Duke is a special boy who takes time to build relationships with new people, but once he gets to know you, he is a great companion. Duke loves to play with his tennis ball and squeaky toys and is such a hoot! He loves to romp around the yard and play fetch. Duke loves to go for quiet hikes in the woods and he loves water and enjoys playing in the kiddie pool during hot summer days. After a day of fun, he will curl up on a cozy bed and snooze all night long. He is house trained and crate trained and is a great snuggle buddy once he is comfortable! Duke is looking for a home with dedicated adopters who will give him time to settle in and learn to trust people. He can be nervous with lots of activity and when meeting new people, so he needs a quiet home (no apartments please) without many visitors. He would do best in a home with kids over the age of 16. Duke needs a home without cats, and can be selective about his dog friends but does OK with some dogs. Duke is available for meet and greets by appointment, so if you would like to meet him please e-mail nsmith@kitsap-humane.org to request an adoption application. You can meet Duke and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open six days a week.
