A Beautiful Future for Bella

July 13, 2011

Many of you are familiar with Bella who needed surgery on her knees. At a cost of about $5,000, we reached out to the community for help and were amazed by the response!

Because of YOU, more than $3,000 was raised for her surgery. Proceeds from our medical fund will cover the remaining expenses. Thank you for giving this girl the chance she deserves.

We are happy to report that Bella has undergone the first of two knee surgeries. She is doing well and resting comfortably with her foster mom. She will have surgery on her second knee in the next month.

Bella’s foster mom reports she is a model patient. She even lets her foster mom do the vet-ordered physical therapy without issue! With each passing day her limp becomes less pronounced as she gradually puts more weight on her right leg. The challenge now is to not allow her to overstress her leg while her healing continues.

Bella likes stuffed toys, food-filled Kongs, belly rubs and being close to people she knows. According to her foster mom, Bella is a sweet, gentle girl that will make some family very happy once she is available for adoption.

We will continue to update you on her progress and when she is available for adoption.
