KHS Staff Changes

January 31, 2010

Jon Teer has served our mission as Coordinator of Animal Care and Control and has recently been promoted to the new position of Chief of Animal Control. Kim McKoy joined the Kitsap Humane Society last fall as the new Director of Community Outreach. Her responsibilities are focused on public relations, marketing, and leading the overall outreach efforts for the agency. She brings an extensive background in non-profit management and is a super enthusiastic advocate for animals. Stacey Price is the new Director of Animal Welfare at the Kitsap Humane Society. In the past year, she’s been trained in many facets of animal welfare and shelter operations by HSUS and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Her role at Kitsap Humane Society is to place more animals than ever in forever homes, and to implement life saving programs. Stacey is originally from upstate New York and moved to the area a year ago with her fiance and bulldog/pit Lucie. David Tuma, long time major donor and supporter of KHS, will join us on March 1, 2010 as our new Operations Director. He brings a set of skills gained in the “for profit” arena that will be beneficial to KHS in many ways. David will work closely with the Chief of Animal Control in addition to managing several other programs such as safety and disaster planning.
