URGENT HELP NEEDED WITH DOG RESCUE!
Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) has an immediate need for foster families and dog walking volunteers due to a massive animal seizure by Animal Control that is occurring in unincorporated Kitsap County today. Our officers have secured a warrant in response to a hoarding situation in which a significant number of dogs require intervention.
While we do not have an actual count of the animals at this time, we know that the dogs range in size from small to large, and in age from puppies to adults.
To accommodate this influx of dogs, assess their health, and administer veterinary care to them, KHS has cleared the majority of current canine residents out of the shelter, and sent them to foster and temporary kenneling. Dogs who are categorized as strays will remain at the shelter so they may be more easily reunited with their families. Peninsula Pet Lodges (Olalla and Gig Harbor) has graciously offered to house some of our current dogs while we care for the incoming ones.
Apply on our website to become a foster or dog walking volunteer. Purchase donations through our Amazon, Chewy, and Walmart wishlists. Orders purchased from your preferred pet food distributor can be shipped to our Dickey Road campus.
Thank you for assisting in our lifesaving efforts.
