Pet of the Week – Monday
July 29, 2025
Fame is fleeting; just ask Monday.
This year-and-a-half-old pup was a media darling for a bit. It started when his visit to a local fire department was posted on social media – just a quick photo-op that turned into more. Someone at the Department of Corrections in Ellensburg saw the post and thought: “Hey… I bet that guy would make a good officer.” So off he went for cadet training.
Monday’s new gig was broadcast on KIRO television and featured on social media across the nation. The DOC was correct: he was a good officer. For a while. Then things went sideways.
Suddenly – and for really no reason whatsoever – Monday no longer wanted to work. He decided to be a dog of leisure. Did he quit or get fired? It’s up for debate, but the bottom line is, Monday is not going to be a part of the proverbial rat race anymore. And he’s back at KHS for adoption.
So, if you’re looking for a happy dog who loves to play ball, snuggle, and get pup cups at the local coffee stand, Monday’s your guy. If you’re looking for someone to work an honest day for an honest day’s pay and contribute to the household income, Monday ain’t it. He’s retired.
Come and meet this unemployed pupper today!
Monday’s ideal home environment:
