Pet of the Week – Nani

February 15, 2017

Meet Nani (Intake #54992), a super cute mini-mutt (likely pit-black lab) who is petite and glossy – like a little black seal! Nani is about 1 year old and has had a rough beginning in life so she is looking for a patient, loving forever home. Nani came to the shelter so shy she wouldn’t walk or move, so she started spending her days in a staff office and we’ve really seen her blossom! As she’s gotten more comfortable, Nani has shown how silly and loving she can be. She loves to make a nest of her blankets and bed, likes walks in the woods and when she’s feeling extra silly will run “zoomies” all around the yard!  She loves to lay her head on your lap, and when she’s very comfortable she will fall into a deep sleep and do the loudest snores you’ve ever heard! Nani is still nervous and timid in new situations, and will likely always be a shy dog. For this reason she’d do best in a quiet home that doesn’t have too many visitors. Nani enjoys time outside, but because she can be spooked easily she is looking for a home with a secure fenced yard. Nani’s ideal home has no kitties and no kids under 12. Nani has some slight swelling in her right wrist, possibly due to an old injury. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all, but her adopter will want to follow up with a full service vet about starting Nani on supplements for joint support. You can meet Nani and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open six days a week.
