DESCRIPTION:For the last eleven years\, many of us have known Dr. Jennifer “Dr. Jen” Stonequist\, our Director of Shelter Medicine\, as a hero to thousands of pets in need throughout our community. \nToday\, the country will learn about her\, too. \nKitsap Humane Society has gained national attention thanks to Dr. Jen’s lifesaving work. \n\nHer extraordinary story has been recognized by Petco Love and Victoria Stilwell\, internationally-renowned dog trainer and star of the hit series It’s Me or the Dog – and Dr. Jen has been named one of their five 2022 Unsung Heroes honorees. \nBut we need your help! Today through April 18\, you can help KHS earn $25\,000 by voting for Dr. Jen as the ultimate champion! \nVOTE NOW!\n\nDr. Jen\, whose compassion for animals and people is contagious\, has helped transform Kitsap Humane Society into a beloved non-profit known for its high-lifesaving rate. \nShe’s saved the lives of countless pets in the Kitsap community and in Mulegé\, Mexico during yearly “spay-cations.” \nDr. Jen was crucial in altering an antiquated law through her advocacy in Olympia\, which now allows shelters to treat pets from low-income families\, keeping them together. \nTrained in mindfulness\, she also provides mentorship and compassion fatigue training to veterinary professionals across the country. \nYou can vote for Dr. Jen and watch her Unsung Hero story along with the other nominees inspiring tales at petcolove.org/unsunghero beginning today through April 18 at 10 am PT!
