Kitsap Humane Society’s Animal Krackers Raises $330,000

October 12, 2016

Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) is celebrating a hugely successful dinner and auction event. On October 1, 430 animal lovers and supporters came together for the 23rd Annual Animal Krackers at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino and raised over $330,000 for the animal welfare shelter.

“The 2016 Animal Krackers set records for attendance and fundraising for this event,” said Eric Stevens, KHS’ Executive Director. “This year we have seen increases in participation at each of our major events and we are honored to receive such overwhelming and growing support from our community, neighbors and corporate partners.”

Net proceeds from Animal Krackers will go toward the shelter’s yearly operations, veterinary services, behavioral rehabilitation and adoption programs.

“Funds raised at Animal Krackers, and our other major events, are crucial to ensuring KHS can continue to adopt out and provide individualized care to over 5,000 animals per year, maintain a ‘save rate’ of nearly 96% of the animals entering our shelter, and help us transfer in and rescue the lives of nearly 2,000 animals per year who otherwise would face euthanasia in other shelters,” Stevens said.
