How to Donate

There are many ways you can help support the Kitsap Humane Society and the thousands of animals that come through our doors annually - donating money, donating an item from the wish list, naming KHS in your will or even by just searching the internet!

Donations can be made at the front desk, through the mail or over the phone. If you have questions or would like to make a donation please contact:

Monetary Donations

Monetary Donations can be made to the Kitsap Humane Society in various ways. A donation can be made when you adopt or license your pet, by phone, by mail or click the icon to the left and donate online. You can make a tribute to a living or deceased pet or person, or sponsor a kennel. Tribute gifts of $250.00 or more will be remembered with the addition of their name on our perpetual plaque in the KHS lobby.

In-Kind Contributions

Donations of items are always welcome. Please view our Wish List to see the items we need the most.

New items that can be auctioned at events are greatly appreciated. Please view the Events page form more information.

We also accept donations of vehicles. They must have clear titles, and all vehicles must be in running condition. In addition to cars, we accept items such as boats, personal watercrafts, snowmobiles, commercial vehicles, horse trailers, 5th wheel trailers, tractor-trailers and heavy-duty vans. We sell these items at auction and devote the proceeds to homeless animals. We take care of the paperwork, and you may be able to claim the “fair market value” of the vehicle (always consult an attorney or tax professional). It’s easy, and your unwanted item can save animals’ lives. A detailed brochure on making auto donations is available at the IRS website: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/pub4303.pdf.

Contribute Creatively

There are many ways to donate creatively. Please see our Creative Ways to Donate page for some ideas.

Bequests and Estates

By making a bequest to the Kitsap Humane Society in your Will, you can make a lasting contribution to the welfare of countless animals cared for at the shelter every year. Such bequests are also deductible for estate-tax purposes. For more information on adding the Kitsap Humane Society to you Will please visit our Planned Giving page.

Employer Matching Programs

Designate the Kitsap Humane Society for your Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #93746) or Bainbridge Island One Call For All. Check with your employer to see if they have a Donation Matching Program. For more information visit the Employer Matching Gifts page.
