Getting Started!
If you are ready to begin volunteering with us, please submit your online volunteer application by clicking on the “Volunteer Application” link. Once your application is submitted and your BetterImpact volunteer account is created, you will be able to access our Volunteer Orientation materials!
- Access Orientation materials by logging into the BetterImpact volunteer portal
- Select the “My Profile” tab and select “Training”
- Complete the Orientation training at your earliest convenience!
Once your application has been reviewed, and the orientation training has been completed, KHS Volunteer staff will reach out to you with further details on how to get started! There is a one-time, non-refundable volunteer registration fee. This fee is due on your first shift or in-person training and covers your volunteer t-shirt, lanyard, and training materials. Assistance is available for individuals experiencing financial hardship.
- $15 per adult
- $25 for an Adult/Youth Pair
- $35 for One Adult/Two Youth Group
KHS strives to provide volunteer opportunities for all community members! If you need special assistance with the application or on-site accommodations, please email volunteerdept@kitsap-humane.org so we can best support you while you are volunteering with us!
Need to Complete a School Volunteer Requirement?
You can complete your required volunteer hours at Kitsap Humane Society! If you would like to work hands on with our animals to complete your hours, due to the extensive training provided we require a minimum of 25 hours prior to signing off on any paperwork for hours completed. If you require less than 25 hours, we have different volunteer tasks that do not involve any animal handling. For more information, contact us at volunteerdept@kitsap-humane.org .

Walk-through viewing is available from noon to 5 pm every day except Tuesday. Adoptions close at 4 pm.
All adoptions are first-come, first-served. We are closed on major holidays.
