He will be your forever Pookie!

Hi, my name is Pookie (Intake# 21377). I dream of the day I will go to my forever family. I’m the sweetest boy you ever did meet. I was brought to the shelter because my former owner could no longer care for me. I can be a bit bashful at first, but I’m quick to warm up to you. My previous owner kept me in a crate for most of the day and night, so I’m really looking forward to finding a family that can provide me with the attention and exercise that I crave.

Get your pet microchipped!

Cost per microchip is $30. Cash only please. (Note - There was a recent misprint in the Kitsap Sun's At A Glance Calendar. Microchips are NOT free.

Pepper Would Love To Meet You!

Hi, my name is Pepper (Intake #19456). Will you be my salt? I’m not sure why I have been at the shelter for so long. I’m such a sweet girl and I have been waiting ever so patiently for someone to pick me since April! My previous owner was moved to a nursing home and could no longer keep me. The staff and volunteers here have come to love me and say I will make a great companion for some lucky person! I’m calm and aloof, but I can tend to be a bit shy. The fastest way to my heart is by giving me lots of chin rubs. Those are my all-time favorite.

Animal Krackers a Great Success!

We wish to thank everyone who helped make our 19th annual dinner auction, Animal Krackers, a rousing success! Saturday’s event raised more than $200,000 for the animals of Kitsap Humane Society. With the highest attendance ever, nearly 350 enthusiastic guests enjoyed an evening of bidding all in the name of our homeless pets. More than 500 staff, board members, volunteers, sponsors, donors, attendees and event partners made this event the most successful in KHS’ history.

Cinnamon is Sweet as Sugar!

Hi, my name is Cinnamon (Intake#23394), but I’m sweet as sugar! If you’re looking for a calm, friendly companion, then I’m the dog for you. I would love to share my golden years with a new loving family. My previous owner had to move and couldn’t take me along, so here I am waiting patiently for a second chance at love. I especially enjoy being with people and going for walks. I do excellent on a leash! I bet you would also be pleased to know I’m very well-behaved – a definite plus to adopting a mature girl like myself!
